Madame C.J. Walker, named Sarah Breedlove at birth, was the first African American millionaire. Walker made it into the National Women's Hall of fame in 1993 and was a member of the National Association of Colored Women. Walker became a millionaire through her own work. Her company was called “The Madame C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company.” I chose Walker because she inspired many people to start their own business.
