In 2004, my country, Iraq, was in war with America. During this war the American soldiers dominated the capital of Iraq, Baghdad. They occupied the place, but the Iraqi people withstood the American soldiers.
Iraq converted from a nice, beautiful and safe place to live in to enormously dangerous place because of the war. The American soldiers roamed in the streets. They started killing and taking anyone that was walking on the streets for no particular reason. I perceived a lot of gang violence, burglaries, vandalism, assault, arson, and many explosions on the street every day. The people did not have food, medicine, electric, or water. We saw the National Space and air Museum. It maintains the largest collection of history air and spacecraft in the world. We really liked it. We also saw the Lincoln Memorial, which was located at the west end of the National Mall. From the top of the stairs, in the front of the memorial, you have a great view of the Washington Monument at the U.S. Capitol. We read the inscription behind the statue of Lincoln that says, “In this temple as the hearts of the people for whom he saved the union the memory of Abraham Lincoln is enshrined.” We saw the Vietnam veterans Memorial that honors the men and woman who served in the Vietnam War. Its main monument, known as the wall is the most visited memorial in Washington. The V-shaped wall is located in the Constitution Gardens. One end of the wall points to the Washington Monument while the other points to the nearby Lincoln Memorial. We really enjoyed that field trip. It was fun day, we all would love to do it again and we all said, “Washington is great place to …show more content…
My beautiful mother made for me an enormous party and she invited all my relatives and friends because I made it and graduated from high school. It was the best day of my life because I felt like I am an adult now and I need to be responsible from now on. We had fun at the party. My mother cooked all the food. She also ordered a big cake with my name on it. I received many gifts like clothes, money and a lot of watches that were all kinds of different colors. In addition to the countess things that my mother have done for me, she bought an iPhone 4 for me. That was the best gift I have ever gotten. Now I will tell you what I got from my lovely father. After a day full of joy, when I was on my way home. I realized that I have gotten gifts from everyone except my dad. I did not want to ask him because I did not want to embarrass him. I was quite until I got home. Then my dad approached me and gave me a key. I was wondering what was that key for, but then he told me to go outside and look, I did what he told me to do. I went outside and I saw a car. He told me that it was my car. I was so happy that I didn’t know what to say. I thought that I was dreaming. To be honest, there is not enough words to express the countless things that my parents have done to make me happy and support me. They are candles that light radiates from them. They are the crown of my head. They are behind all of my

Did the civil war really redefine what it means to be american? Well, in the Sullivan Ballou Letter Rhode Islander felt that he shouldn’t have just ran away back to his family he felt the need to fight for the freedom of oppressed people and he wanted equal rights.
