So, using this example the teacher can go about giving Alice more direct instructions/questions within the story as they read aloud together such as recognizing certain vocabulary words. That way Alice isn’t trying to figure out how to read the words and understand the story all at the same time. By giving Alice more direct instructions she can focus on what she hears and better determine the answer that best fits the question. This assistant may not work for every teacher.
