Like I said, I grew up playing club softball and used these fields while growing up to practice on. I couldn’t always make it to my tournament teams practice so this park gave me the opportunity to still put work in even though I could not be with my actual team. My goal growing up was to gain knowledge and skill in softball and hopefully become good enough to earn a scholarship. If it wouldn’t have been for LGSA, I might have never made my dream of playing college ball come true. LGSA provided me a field to practice on and bases to run around. Whether I had other people out there or not, I had everything I needed with just a field and bases. Doing my community service at LGSA brought back many memories and gave me the opportunity to observe certain things that I would have never realized before. While doing my community service I observed children who had no idea how to even play the game of softball out on the field enjoying just an outdoor activity while trying to learn each aspect step by step. When I was younger I didn’t realize how much of a help LGSA was until I actually did community service for the organization. While observing all the kids who were out on the softball field that day it made me realize how thankful I am for LGSA and all the other community parks that are in each town and city. While at LGSA I observed that each kid, regardless of skill, had the opportunity to practice with another teammate and learn the game of softball from one of the LGSA coaches. Each kid had the opportunity to learn something new which gives them a chance to improve their skill and hopefully grow up to play sports and gain a scholarship. Kids who practice and play at LGSA have just as good of a chance to improve skill as the kids who have enough money to pay for an instructor or play for a club
