One competitive advantage 100% Bran has over competitors is that Canadian wheat is so plentiful. Not only does Canada produce tonnes of wheat, it is also good quality too. The Niagara Falls plant …show more content…
Media outlets would consist of television, radio, newspapers/print material and online. TV advertising would not be as easy to do in India as so many different dialects are spoken. The message would only be understood by some, not all. It could still be worthwhile to run 1 or 2 ads, in order to reach the population who do have access to a television. Print ads that focus mainly on images would be a great way to advertise as they are visual and simple to understand. They are also much cheaper than TV ads. Things like individual flyers would not be as effective because there are too many people in India to reach them and would just result in waste. Freight forwarders are a good option as they can start managing the whole process from port to customer. Sales agents would also be helpful because they would know more about niche markets in India that 100% Bran might appeal to, such as health food stores. Retailers are also necessary as Post will not be setting up an entire store, just selling one product in stores already established. India has many grocery chains such as D-Mart, Foodworld, Nilgiris, and Lulu Hypermarket. The best partnership with a retailer in India would come from working with Big Bazaar. Big Bazaar is India’s largest hypermarket chain. A hypermarket is a combination of a supermarket and a department store, i.e. Wal-Mart. Selling 100% Bran in Big Bazaar stores would ensure that many consumers have access to it; there are 200 stores across India. The chain also does their own advertising through television, print and social media. If 100% Bran was sold in their stores, then that could down on costs for Post to
