Mr. Doe often picks verbal and physical fights with John, and his mother shows signs of struggling to control his behavior. When John was young, his parents relied heavily on Ms. Johnson for assistance, but that dynamic has since changed. Ms. Johnson is now the legal guardian and receives minimal, if any, help from John’s parents. In the past, Ms. Johnson did not agree with John taking medication for his behavioral problems, so she did not enforce John to take them. Overtime, Ms. Johnson has come to realize that John needs help with his mental health. Therefore, Ms. Johnson has accepted that John needs to attend therapy and that he needs a residential placement, because she is unable to effectively regulate John’s behavior when he becomes agitated, irritated, and aggressive.
