Do you know the author of the story “all summer in a day?” He’s he was born in August 22, 1920, and died in June 5, 2012. His name is Ray Bradbury.
The story “all summer in a day” is about a girl called Margot moved from earth to Venus,a planet that rain all year. Every 7 years, the sun will came out of the heavy rain. Margot only cares about the sun, because she remembers the sun. She's classmates is jealous that she remembers the sun, and they Locked her in the closet when the sun is going to show up. Margot was left in the closet, and missed the sun, the only thing she cares about on planet Venues. The theme for this story is that jealousy is causing people making wrong dedications, and this is shown when they lock her in the closet, tell her the sun is not going to show up, and leaving her alone.
One of the good example for jealousy makes people making wrong choices, is when William and other children tells her the sun is not showing up. The original quote from the story is: ‘ "Nothing !" he cried. "It was all a joke, wasn’t it?" He turned to the other children.
"Nothing’s happening today. Is it ?"They all blinked at him and then, understanding, laughed and shook their heads."Nothing, nothing !" ’ This quote uses repetition, the author uses this literary device so the reader understands how do the Venues children treat her like,

Prior to putting her in the closest she was telling the children that they sun was coming out and they don’t believe. They are so angry that they put her in the closest. Bradbury writes ‘They surged about her, caught her up and bore her, protesting, and then pleading, and then crying, back into a tunnel, a room, a closet, where they slammed and locked the door.’ is a quote from the story. The author uses this descriptive image to help really show how angry the kids are at her for telling them that the sun is coming
