So, that means I need to know the “who, why, where, how and when”. When my co-workers or people that I supervise come to me with a problem/issue, I turn it back to them and ask “why?”. I keep asking until we get to the root cause so I get provide the best solution to find the issue at hand. S- Sensing

1. The hot word that has been floating around the military within the past few years is morale. Morale is something you can sense, it’s visual – you can see it. This can correlate to the covenant term Hesed. The meaning of Hesed is the attitude of a healthy organization (Fischer, 2009). And depending on how well you know your section and the people in it, you can feel it. Recently, there has been a morale issue within my section and when I questioned the workers it is due to pending inspections and the work cycle.

I like to schedule things in far in advance but due to my position I have to be flexible to adjust to meeting changes, last minute orders and decide what to do as we do it. Recently, I had a meeting that I scheduled about three weeks in advance but due to personnel issues I was dealing with, I felt that was more important so I had to adjust the meeting for everyone. I knew that would throw people off their own schedule so I had to schedule the next meeting on the fly, it ended up being a working lunch.
Temperament – SJ “The Guardians”
The SJ “The Guardians” group’s primary objective is “Security Seeking”. (Personality Test, 1998) I love security; it provides me a stable and secure lifestyle. It is one of the reasons why I continue to serve in the military. I am currently in the middle of a four-year contract and I plan on re-enlisting once this contract is up.

There is so much that was gathered that I feel will help me be a better employee, co-worker and leader. I made a few mistakes in the past and the information in this book helped me realize why those mistakes (i.e., personality conflict) might have happened. One of the changes that I made last year was to put all of my section leads into one area to help improve processes and to cut down on time from them walking to each other
