One of the most popular questions that people ask about the play Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare is that if Romeo and Juliet's love was real or just lust. The reason so many question this is because it all happens in such a short amount of time. Rosaline broke up with Romeo and the next day Romeo married Juliet. Romeo and Juliet only met each other four times before they got married. There are many theories that they really weren't truly in love. Romeo and Juliet possibly could've just had something in the moment. Everyone thinks that the play is showing there love for each other, but they haven't known each other long enough to prove that it’s real love. Juliet was just a young girl at the time and was very inexperienced so she just went with it and assumed that she was in love. They were never truly in love with each other. Romeo and Juliet knew each other for less than twenty four hours before they met each other. They talked to each other a total of four times. You can’t really be totally in love with someone if you only talk to them four times. The whole play was just purely lust. Juliet was just a distraction for Romeo after him and Rosaline broke up. Romeo and Juliet were confused with what actual true love is throughout the whole play. If Romeo and Juliet were more careful with the decisions that were made they would still be alive. Juliet thought that she loved Romeo so much that if he died she would end her life with him. The play Romeo and Juliet shows some examples of love but most of the time it is just lust. Romeo and Juliet were never truly in love with each other. William Shakespeare did a great job capturing how Romeo and Juliet felt about each other even though it might have not been true love he still showed that they had somewhat of a connection with each
