My muscles are tensed up, my heart is racing, and my hands are starting to sweat. Am I stressed out about this speech? Yes? No? Maybe.…
After noticing the speaker’s confidence during the speech, it became clear that his calmness and ability to speak clearly, his ability to refer to his notes and to use the power point at the same time and also his ability to ensure he was the source of the information he was giving made his delivery good. This informative speech could have been improved with more body movement during the transitions and a good eye contact with the…
In my opinion I thought the speech went pretty well. It has been a while since I have given a speech, so I felt quite rusty at first. My research on Newton Running came pretty easy so it enabled me to be more confident in my delivery. The necessary aspects of the speech came pretty easy and I felt that I delivered them pretty clearly. I thought that I did several things quite well and at the same time had some basic speech giving abilities I could improve on.…
After reviewing my persuasive speech over why the University of Oklahoma is the best university in the nation, I would sum up my speech as a little bit of train wreck. Although I made good claims with factual evidence, the amount of stuttering I did, and all the times I was choked up throughout the speech drew my audience’s attention away. From this, I lost my audience’s belief that I was competent of the information I was reiterating to them. At the introduction of my speech I believe I started out fairly strong and gave a good run down of the coming speech.…
While delivering this speech I felt okay, but I guess that was based on my mood not the actual speech. The strength of my speech was the first body paragraph, because it demonstrates how hard my dad work for the family. Which also make the audience understand why he is qualified for the award. When I glance at the time today, I’ve noticed I already spoke for four minutes. Thank god, I checked otherwise I probably would have went over the time limit.…
and I ended up being the very first person to give my speech. I sucked it up and did my best but I wish that I could have relaxed more, I seemed a little stiff and…
However, I personally felt nervous as I was talking. This was reinforced by feedback I received which said “you seemed slightly nervous at first but then as confidence grew the teaching became increasingly better.” I felt this was due to a lack of preparation and could have easily been resolved by practice and repetition. Also, next time I will prepare some notes to prompt me and to ensure I do not forget to mention any important details the students may…
My style of speech was not very conversational (besides asking if they knew if Trump was a writer that garnered laughter), and more clinical in nature. I noticed I read out facts for the most part, but I did feel the audience was engaged, and my hand gestures helped bring conversational elements to my presentation, making it flow better. From watching, I think my weakest part of my speech was my conclusion. I described the importance of knowing details like what I had discussed for when one goes to vote for primaries. While the closing idea was good, I paused a few times for more than a second, and overall was choppy.…
This was largely due to my particular efforts in practicing the pacing of this speech multiple times over. This practice resulted in me being very confident in my timing and so I knew when I would have to make my way back to the keyboard to switch slides. I did a great job in spreading my eye contact out throughout the room which helped in getting and maintaining the audience’s attention. Overall, I am very happy with the delivery of this speech because I was able to amend my mistakes that I have made in my previous speeches even though that result in a couple of unforeseen but ‘easy-to-correct” mistakes (more on that in the next…
I definitely have to change quite a few things to make my performance at least good if not the best in future. Among them, one thing I definitely need to change is “practice” giving a fair amount of time to develop a good memory until it reaches the point of perfectness while presenting or delivering. “Practice makes man perfect”-universal quote triggered into my attention now. I believed I had fairly good voice tone/volume, my non-verbal communication like gestures, body language, and eye contact wasn't bad. Similarly, I used a word fillers approach to cease fast flow of speech delivery to adjust with audiences’ conceiving capacity/ability and keep up the connection.…
I notice that my head and eyes are fixated at the windows on the back of the room. My head also tilts from one side to another and there seems to be no sense of enthusiasm for what I am saying. You can tell that I am trying to finish this speech as quickly as possible and this spotlight that I put upon myself really hinders me. Something that I notice from my persuasive speech is different is that I have something important so share. I value my opinion as an individual a lot more and I try to make sure that people understand why I am speaking in the first place.…
“Blocking” is the theatrical term for what happens in the eyes of the audience. It is so important that directors dedicate a rehearsal to it. The blocking rehearsal takes place during the script reading on stage. The director uses this rehearsal to identify where actors need to stand, what they can or cannot do and where they need to move as the performance takes place. As magicians we all need to be aware of blocking.…
Up during my speech specificly the last one, i felt super nervous, but looking back i appeared confident and great body gestures. The one thing that doesn 't surprise me is that in all my speeches i managed to have a great tone of voice and enthusiasm. Personally my strongest performance had to be the persuasive speech, after looking at it i noticed i looked the most confident, my content, my structure, and my transitions were spot on. My weekest performance however was my first speech, i looked so nervous, i had very little content, i was not into the speech, no transitions, and like i said i learned a lot from this…
I practiced the presentation enough in front of my group members beforehand, which helped to be more confident in my speaking ability. When it came to the presentation, I really wanted to do it well. But, I was quite nervous as we were told that the presentation will be filmed. And I end up stumbling on some words and forgetting what to say at one point. One of my group member said that I seemed quite calm despite what I was feeling inside.…
Nurses are first hand witnesses to the travesty of abortion, and these stories are finally being shared. A nurse from Jacksonville, Florida, witnessed the murder of an infant and the heartlessness of people. Her story began with a saline abortion. A saline abortion is where the doctors inject saline into the amniotic fluid that the baby is surrounded by in the second trimester. This baby was born with burned skin as though she had been splashed with boiling water, crying out in pain, but no one to comfort her.…
