Figure skating is a sport in which single athletes or teams of athletes conduct artist performances on ice. The objective of the sport is to score the highest marks possible from the judges, in order to get points athletes are required to perform a number of different moves, they perform a selection of spins, jumps, lifts and steps depending on the nature of the event.
Skaters may use professional music editors so that their music meets requirements; they are required to skate to music that has definite beat or rhythm. They are free to select their own attire, with a few restrictions, in competition, females may wear dress with matching attached briefs they are not allowed to wear tights; also matching costumes are not required in pair skating
