In the Ring Hard work and determination is what drove me from the start. You can never be too good right? There is always room to improve and that doesn’t just go for sports. Boxing is my passion, just being in the ring with the roaring cheers and bad intentions makes it interesting. The nerves that build up before the fight, when you’re in your corner are exhilarating! Both fighters in each corner wanting nothing, but complete domination. Each boxer has their own story on how they built their skills and came to be who they are. The journey of accomplishing their goals is always the best story. Mine is the journey I had of becoming a Golden Gloves champion. All my life I’ve

My coach takes a towel and rings it out on my head. Nothing felt better than the cold flowing streams of water rolling down my face. Even after the first period I was winded and still trying to regain my breath. The bell rings and the war begins. He comes out swinging with bad intentions in his eyes. He lands some great blistering hits on my body that took the wind out of me. This shocked me, due to the power of the hits. I started to run a little, but in a boxing type way. After boxing and running from my opponent a little the bell rang and second period was over. Back in my corner, but this time my coach is getting on my ass. He says “It’s 1-1 right now bud, and this is your shot! You need this round son. You may feel tired right now, but your body is lying. All you have to do is fight as hard as you can for 2 minutes and then you can rest. Give me your heart for these 2 minutes and you won’t regret it”. This wrose some fire throughout my body and eyes. The bell rang and I came out like a new person. He wasn’t going to let me win it easy that’s for sure. My opponent came out with the same fire as the second period. We both wanted this and we showed our desire throughout the fight. We exchange blows as the third period is slowly ticking away. I hear my coach scream “This is it kid, you got to start going for the rest of the period, it’s your time”. This ignited my fire even more. I came in swinging using every little last …show more content…
A little too much excitement I almost fainted, due to the lack of everything in my body. My knees were quivering and arms were shaking. I used everything my body could handle in that fight. I've always been taught good sportsmanship, so after the match I hugged my opponent. Both of us dripping with blood and sweat. Our fight I'll always remember, it was a war. My first fight taught me a lot about the sport. All the training on the bag and pads and other equipment is nothing like the real thing. All those drills will help, but you can never underestimate anyone once you’re in the ring. My coach helped me through a lot through the year after this fight. He didn’t just teach me to be a good boxer in the ring, he also showed me how to be a good person outside the ring. He was a super rough old man with nasty language and blue eyes as bright as the sky. Despite his rough edge and meanness, he has one of the biggest hearts and that’s what makes him so great. He showed me if I stick to my goals and dreams with hard work it pays off in the

Great Britain’s imperial ambitions resulted in a series of military conflicts with its European neighbors that spread to the North American colonies. Unable to avoid warfare, some colonists developed strategic alliances with Native Americans. The willingness had less to do with the friendly feelings toward the Americans and more with their recognition of the colonists growing power on the continent. Many of the English colonists were more than happy to engage in warfare with the unfamiliar and “dangerous savages.” Captain Lovewell’s account in the Ballad of Pigwacket shows this willingness to fight with the Native Americans.…

My domination of easily breezing by my neighbors in street hockey and always ranked at the top of stat sheets for scoring in recreational hockey, abruptly ended when I joined my first competitive travel hockey team. My first game exemplified the setbacks my fear imposed on my team when I frighteningly moved out of the way of an enormous player to grant him a free pass to the net in which he scored the game winning goal. Shamefully looking at me as if I were an ally of the other team, I became alienated after my team after they began the tradition of…

The only thing I could think about was the fight. As I was getting ready I remember putting on my gloves and telling myself “i’m ready” and I immediately went from doubting myself to being so confident I was already thinking what comes next, thinking about how many more sparring sessions will I have to go through until I can finally get another fight. Even though I know I was going to win I still didn’t underestimate my opponent I went in the ring one step at a time and gave my best performance and got extremely happy when I started to think about how hard I pushed myself physically and mentally training and promised myself that I will continue to train for my next fight with the dedication and concentration like I did for the first, I want to be able and see famous boxing quotes and be able to relate to them and tell people I have the determination to be the best. As we exchanged punches mine connected and his missed I realized that I was in no need of having to think about the combination I was going for next it all happened automatically it was muscle memory running the show getting me points by the judges, every punch my opponent threw I came back with two each landing getting more points. Although I did dominate the fight my opponent did catch me with a couple of good shots but that didn’t stop me that just helped me read him as a fighter and that made him a lot more predictable, We both continued and…
