Thus, I really think that the quality of young adults’ relationship with their parents is also crucial to ensure positive outcomes of the child’s life. I believe that this relationship can determine the quality of the children’s friendships and romantic relationships too. If the young adults and their parents have a strong and good bond, they will create a good connection with each other and it can affect the psychological well-being of the young adults. There is also some research that suggests the positive attachment and bond more likely to have a happy marry status with their significant other compared to those who don’t. Furthermore, parents have a role where they can help to promote their young adults’ to achieve intimacy. If the parents successfully help their young adults to achieve the sense of intimacy, it enables the young adults to keep a loyal, long-term intimate relationship with their significant other. If the young adults and their parents are close, they tend to engage in face-to-face maintenance behavior where young adults can take this quality and apply it to their friendship to develop a good quality friendship. Family celebrations or rituals can be birthday celebrations; religious holidays and also activities that involved patterned family interactions. My family celebrated each and every one of the celebrations listed above. For examples, during birthdays, we sit down together as family and plan a surprise party and celebrate together and also make sure that most of us can make it to celebrate it. Besides, during religious holidays such as Eid Ul Fitr, my small and extended family will gathered together to celebrate and to seek forgiveness to each other, as it is the part of the tradition. In my opinion, this interdependence that is shown while we were carry out family celebrations shows that it is really important to spend our time with family or at least make time to be together. These kinds of celebrations are also one of the ways where we can teach ethnic culture and family traditions to the younger generations. Furthermore, my family also will gather and support each other during family crises such as death and illness—we visit each other and give positive words to make them feel better.
