She promotes a health principles and healthy living among the staff such as avoiding the use of substances or foods such as nicotine and coffee. It is believed that “coffee causes caffeine addition and sleep disturbance” (Gunnars, 2016). Staff members are constantly encouraged to remain current with their nursing practice, education, effectively utilizing the available resources to provide optimal patient care. C.C. creates an environment where they are able to share their ideas and experiences for learning purposes to improve the quality of patient care, achieve health and organizational goals.
Importance to exercise professional advocacy and authenticity
C.C. expressed that leaders should have professional advocacy and authenticity when working with colleagues. She reasons that to act contrary is an indication of exclusion to colleagues. Such attitudes are consistent with leaders whom seek to pursue their own interest and being autocratic will prevent others from making meaningful contributions and lead to frustration. Also, staff dissatisfaction, poor performance, non -compliance and high staff turn -over. Therefore, including their contributions will increase work attendance and produce happy staff members.
