I had met these three girl who were popular and gorgeous so when they asked me to hang out with them I felt really good about myself. Soon I began to realize that they were starting to hang without me and stopped inviting me to things. I would come home from school upset and my mom always knew. When I’m not in the best mood, people at school seem to notice. Many have said, “you’re always a happy and smiley person, what’s wrong?”. That shows that my classmates know the kind of person I am and that’s special. Having peers in school who enjoy your company is a great feeling because it makes me feel included and worthy of other’s time. I also like it when people give me a smile or a nice comment in the halls. It makes the day go by much easier. I know that I’m not the only person who has tough days but with the peers around me, they make me feel better.
I fully believe that with the people around me, I will not succeed. My friends are always there for me when I need help with any situation. My mom knows exactly what to say when I need to hear it. My sister is like my best friend and i don’t know where I would be without her. My coworkers make sure I stay happy and cheerful. My peers at school know me for who I am and accept me. Being with all these people is the best thing I could ask for. They all influence me in a positive way and I hope I influence others positively as

As I mentioned in the previous assignment, I want to increase my baseline 500 steps each week so that by the end of the semester I am recording 10,000 steps which is in the active range. I will continue walking around the property at work and stepping in place whenever I possibly can. I will stick to walking to the mailbox which is two blocks from home as opposed to driving up to it on my way home. If I have days where I am tired I will just give myself another pep talk. I have a pretty good support system thus far so I will lean on them if pushing myself on my own does not cut it.…

Aristotle claimed that the concept of possessing good in life was necessary for happiness: “some are necessary conditions while others are naturally useful and cooperative as instruments.” (Nicomachean Ethics 1099b28-29). He further explains that “having friends seems to be the greatest external good” (Nicomachean Ethics 9.9.1169b10-11). Friendship can be used to achieve this external good for it is deemed a virtuous action which is considered necessary for achieving the desired happiness that Aristotle speaks of throughout the all the books of the Nicomachean Ethics because “The solitary person’s life is hard, since it is not easy for him to be continually active all by himself; but in relation to others and in their company it is easier”…

It is the morning of July 4th, 2008: I groan as my mother gently whispers, “teneshi yene mar (Get up honey)”. Struggling I open my eyes and notice the trembling cabin, I turn to my mother with a look of concern and she reaches out her hand and squeezes my own looking up at me, “we are going to be okay Mar”. A couple of moments later our plane has landed, we gather up our belongings and make our way towards the exit filled with people attached to their screens and MP3 players. The airport is filled with an undercurrent of anticipation, impatience, and boredom; bodies scramble back and forth from one gate to another. My mother, attempting to balance three children, clasps my hand, holds my little brother to her waist and calls back to my older…

My family also supported and encouraged me to do some things that I typically did not do but wanted to. No matter what activity was, my family helped me get whatever I needed and also supported me by showing up at various performances and events. Though this act may seem minuscule, it meant a lot to know that I had people who were proud of me and would always love me no matter if I succeeded or failed. Altogether, I know that without the support of my friends and family, I would not be the person that I am…
