She became the first African American woman to run for president. She had an impact because Chisholm was one of the many people who stood up against this unjust behavior which had to do with racism and she is remembered by us all today. Her story connects to mine in some ways because I am also from a completely different religion but I am proud about it. I also am trying really hard and I am passing with honors right now. I also want to have a job in Congress when I grow up and I am going to try hard to achieve what I want. Finally, I would like to say that I strongly look up to Shirley Chisholm. She is one of the greatest African American woman their could of ever been. I am extremely grateful that their were women like Shirley Chisholm to ever exist. If people like her didn't exist I don't know were our world would of been today. She was a very strong leader who went against all odds at her time. I am proud that at one time she had been a big part of our nation. The reason I chose Shirley Chisholm is because she was a very powerful lady who always spoke her mind. Who is your most influential African American
