The work of the Holy Spirit is to manifest the active presence of God in the world, and especially in the church. Jesus is the God of love, so He opens up His heart to all people but some choose not to serve Him. Jesus is many things to believers but first and foremost Jesus is our savior and helper. Jesus helps each and every one of us through salvation. Jesus assists us through His teachings and also His word which is the Bible. Jesus also uses parables in His word to help us better understand His love for us. He traveled all over to speak God’s word to multitudes of people. John 14:26 says,”But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, …show more content…
He desires to be with us and live in our hearts. The Bible is our guide, but also is the Holy Spirit. Many people claim their conscience is leading them and telling them how to walk through their everyday lives, but in actuality, that is the Holy Spirit trying to protect them. Have you ever opened your Bible to a random scripture text that you really needed to hear in that exact moment? The Holy Spirit will use scripture to direct your thoughts to a Holy God. John proclaims that Jesus and the Word are one and the same. His spirit will help us to keep his commandments and follow his word. The Father is a comforter that comes to us and doesn’t leave us comfortless. The Holy Spirit gives us power to say no to the world and yes to his ways. His Spirit came that we may have life and life more abundantly. Jesus promised the abundant and fruitful life as the result of being filled by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit filled life is the Christ directed life by which Christ lives His life in and through us in the power of the Holy Spirit. One becomes a Christian through the ministry of the Holy Spirit according to John. From the moment of spiritual birth the Christian has the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. The Holy Spirit is the source of the overflowing life. The Holy Spirit came to glorify Christ. When one is filled with the Spirit he is a true disciple of Christ. In His last command before His ascension, Christ promised the power of the Holy Spirit to enable us to be witnesses for Him. We are filled with the Holy Spirit by faith alone, but we must also walk in the Spirit daily. Our lives should display more and more the Fruit of the Spirit as we grow in Him. We should continually be more and more conformed to the image of Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals to us many things that we do not know. It brings to the open or makes known that are unknown or hidden. The Holy Spirit comforts people in times of trials. It
