In Genesis 3:5 “Then the lord said, ‘My spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh: nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty.” the Holy Spirit shows that he will protect and stay with mankind for the duration of their life time showing that his role on Earth is to protect. The Holy Spirit role in the church is stated perfectly in John 14:25-16:4 “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” so if even the twelve disciples of the lord needed the the Holy Spirit to remind them of them of the teaching of the Jesus then it is pretty easy to understand the role of the Holy Spirit in the church. The role of the spirit is to teach us and remind us by speaking to us the word of god through the bible. That is why one must never underestimate the importance of the holy bible because the spirit helps comprehend what we read. In some cases the Holy Spirit teaches us and shows by reminding us of his words in the bible. John 16:12-14 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.” The church must not forget the the Holy Spirit is there to teach, and guide us using his words and that the church does not use his words to satisfy their own agendas. The role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer is that the Holy Spirit has saved us in Titus 3:5 it states ‘He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit “ so the Holy Spirit has saved do to his kindness. The Holy Spirit also has united us all of the in 1 Corinthians 12:13, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit .” the Holy Spirit unite all believers under his body no matter what the who they are as long as the are believers the Holy Spirit will baptize them in his spirit. The Holy Spirit has given believers gift and his grace to spread his word throughout the world, and as believers it is our job to take what the Holy Spirit has given us to
