Student athletes are important in our society because, research has been concluded that they tend to succeed more in life. I do believe that High school student athletes become more successful adults. I believe this because, to begin, with student athletes have better manners and more respect. Following that, athletes have a better social skill that is a very important factor in school and further life. Which both of these help result in doing better academically and if an athlete have good grades and is a decent ball player, they have a good chance of having a very successful job as a ball player and making lots of money. Of course people have their opinions about this but you can not beat statistic. Student athletes have a reputation for having better manners and are more respectful. Studies have shown that students who participate in sports have better manners and more respect for teachers. Some teachers say this is because of the game and the coaches. The athletes get into trouble by their coaches because of their actions in class. Athletes also can not disrespect their coaches or other team mates. If they do so, they face the chances of …show more content…
Some I have already talked about and they can be tied to better grades in school. Like, students who have a higher social status or better manners do not always result in higher grades but it does help. Studies have shown to have a higher GPA, attendance, and a lower drop out rate. People will always have there opinions about this and say that athletes do not have the time. I do not support this idea because experts say that athletes develop better time management. clearly, having higher academics in school is a big advantage to society and succeeding in life. If the athlete is good at their sport and has a higher GPA, he or she could have a easy road to a free college or even a great chance at a high paying job doing something you love to

For college athletes school should be their first and top priority over everything else such as school activities and sports. By doing this it would send a message that an activity such as sports is more important than getting a higher at a prestigious college or university which is not a good sign. Also, playing sports in college for these college athletes is not a job but it’s a privilege for these young adults. College athletes should not be treated like they’re professional basketball players or professional football players because they’re not. College athletes are only amateur players who not professionals who get paid millions of dollars as their salaries.…

Academic reforms should also take place for student athletes. The academic standards for student athletes are low, and schools have a big part of not providing adequate academic opportunities for athletes. Student athletes have the right to explore their career paths and interests at school, and the schools should not take away this opportunity from them. Many of the athletes’ education opportunities are being compromised by schools, and they end up working non-decent jobs after graduating if they fail to turn professional. Schools are the main cause that influences athletes’ future, and they not only should put the athletes as their priority, they should do all their best to protect the athletes rather than exploiting them and using them as pawns for…

The truth about all of this is college athletes and high school athletes are different than each other. A college athlete will most likely have some of the best grades in his class because if he/she has bad grades they will get kicked off their team and if he/she has a scholarship than that athlete will lose the scholarship they were given and will not be able to pay for college, so a college athlete has more to lose if they do not keep up in school. A high school athlete on the other hand has less to lose when it comes to school. If the athlete does bad in school than they just might get kicked off the sport they are playing, but most likely the jock will be more willing to not care about school as much as a college athlete. According to Science…

As I approached my last year of Jr. High, I questioned whether high school sports were something I wanted to participate in. In Jr. High, I excelled in sports playing basketball in the fall, volleyball in the winter, and track and field during the spring. I knew that playing sports in high school would take up a lot of time, and push me to my limits. After thinking for awhile, I decided that I was up for the challenge. The decision to play sports was definitely the right choice to make.…

Being a student athlete is a wonderful thing in high school, despite a lot of people only acknowledge the athlete part and not the student part. I believe that academics come first and if a high school student wants to be an athlete, then getting good grades should be a requirement. It should be mandatory for teachers and coaches to check the grades of student athletes weekly to determine whether students are performing academically well or not. The students that aren’t doing well should be dismissed from any further games and practices until their grades improve. It is important that student athletes maintain good grades because the work that they put into their school performance carries with them through life, putting too much of an emphasis…

One can say being a full time student and college athlete is like having two full-time jobs. Student athletes are working non-stop day in and day out to not only meet academic standards but to maintain their athletic scholarship. College athletes bring millions of dollars to universities, but in return, they only receive small monthly stipends for food. With every sporting event, each student-athlete gives their all not knowing if they will get seriously injured or not. Yes, they are students, however, they are bringing money to the universities that regular students are not.…
