Additional notes:
Mac was attentive and actively engaged with the group. Even though she missed the class before we presented, she made great effort to inquire about how the first group did and what we can do to do better. She organized the entire brief document checking to make sure we completed the assignment thoroughly. In addition, identified the power dynamic within the conflict and broke down each type of power both Margaret and Mary were employing. She played her character, Susan, true to life.

We lost a member due to personal circumstances so that left us with four people. We thought it might be easier with less people. The initial meeting with our group in class was interesting. The personalities were strong and people were clashing about what conflict we should do for our skit. Ben and I butt heads a few times, because he really wanted to do his specific conflict. Everyone looked towards me for the final verdict, and I respectfully said no, we could not do his conflict. That was the only major altercation that happened within the group. There was a power dynamic of girls versus the one boy in the group. The girls had a tendency to agree with each other. Ben did not say much but when he did, we did not attack him. I feel like we all took his comments into considerations, but some of his ideas could not positively contribute to the …show more content…
This meeting was very productive. Each person asked me for greater detail about their character. We rehearsed the skit about five times. Ben offered some great suggestions on how we could make the setting and the relationships between characters more clear, which we implemented without hesitation. During the skit, everyone stayed true to character. We all remembered to say those crucial lines that really defined the dynamics within the conflict. The presentation was executed as planned with each member contributing equally. Every group member gave a well-articulated explanation of each conflict dynamic with viable examples from the skit.
Overall, our group vibed well together. There was only one major altercation. I felt stressed out as this was our final project for the class. Everyone eventually contributed a great deal after I did some pushing and prodding to get the process rolling. We could have functioned more effectively if we began the project earlier. It would have eliminated a lot of stress for me at

For this assignment, I watched a play called “The Insanity of Mary Girard” that was performed by a UT Theatre group, Round About Players, and was shown at the SAC black box. The play revolved around a young woman named Mary Girard who is thrown into an insane asylum by her wealthy husband, Stephen Girard. In the insane asylum, she is tormented by figments of her imagination and is told that she is not to leave the insane asylum for as long as she may live. In this particular adaptation, the cast consisted of 6 actors, 1 playing the role of Mary Girard and the other 5 doubling up on characters.…

Nate brought up an interesting point. He thought that they would run the stick through Ralph and then cook him over a fire as if he was a pig. The group also talked a lot about the deaths of Simon and Piggy and how they contributed to the boys going savage. We talked about when did the bays…

During and after the group project I got a better understanding of NAVAL and a better understanding of my group. For example, Lexi is the leader of the group and Camille is the worker bee meaning that she is the one to go to for the information about the presentation. There were many high points in the group such as when we completed are power point early and when we researched the information. I had a blast working with them. A low point was when the video couldn’t load and we had to start from scratch again.…

The substantive conflict, which is part of secondary tension, aroused when Lynda disagreed with Danilo’s ideas and decisions (Engleberg& Wynn, 2012). At the storming stage the hidden agendas may also emerge and our group was not the exception (Engleberg& Wynn, 2012). Lynda wanted to incorporate her ideas so much that she forgot about the time limit of up to 25 minutes for the presentation. She had creative personal goal, but the group realized that it will take more time and the presentation will look like theatric performance.…

For me the activity of working as a group especially with other individuals who I have not worked with or talked to before was a good learning experience that had both positive and negative outcomes using Driscoll’s model of reflection as a frame work to elaborate on how I interpreted what happened, what impact the situation had on me and what I will do in the future if presented with a similar situation (Driscoll and Teh, 2001). We were required to do a 10 minute presentation for a health promotion project that we developed. I decided to work with other individuals who I didn’t know and have not worked with before as I believed I would be more productive and respectful if I worked with people I didn’t know very well. For the first tutorial…

We have 5 members in our group of whom 2 were male, and 3 were female. After we were assigned the project, we all came together, and made a commitment to do it better, and succeed at it. Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public. It was a very challenging project because we were to redesign a particular product, which should be more appealing to the costumers in terms of features, solution of particular problems, availability, and cost.…

When reflecting on this class, overall I really enjoyed it and I learned so much from it. The class my structure was really helpful and enabled us to experience a group as well as learn about it. My topic for the transitions project was self-advocacy, personal goals, and responsibility. I felt adequately prepared to discuss these topics due to my strong belief in the power of goals. Through researching this topic, I learned ways to be more responsible and how to hold myself accountable in my life. Initially, I was part of a group with Olivia, Zayne, Brianna, and Tiara.…

My experience with Group C caused me to believe positive group experiences were possible. Brinda and Kristen are extremely kind and dedicated teammates who I will never forget. In our group, we practiced turn-talking and fantasy chaining, and we slightly struggled with agendas and decision making. I equally enjoyed working with Brinda and Kristen, but I appreciated them for different reasons. Kristen was a powerful asset to the team because she always asked questions and made sure clarity was present.…

In fact, the second meeting took place at the same place where we verbally brainstormed. Our meeting consisted in discussing, there wasn 't any conversation besides about our task. We had a business idea but nothing concrete. However, we weren 't alerted by the situation because we had time.…

For me, it’s not easy working with others because I like to take ownership of my work. It was a great experience to see the importance of the synergies that were created, as effective division of work and proper communication made a very big project manageable. Also, completely reading the instructions is an important lesson the we learned and can take anywhere. While we were confident about our material in the presentation, we didn’t follow the guidelines well, which hurt us. Trust is a huge part about working in groups, and I gained this trust through interaction with my team members, as well as success early on in the project.…

Overall, I was extremely happy with the effort my group put into this project. In terms of attending the group meetings, everyone was present and participated in the discussion. The first meeting took place on a Sunday afternoon at Baruch and the second meeting took place on a weeknight in the form of a Google Hangout. The times and places of these meetings alone displayed every group members’ commitment to the project, effort to accommodate for scheduling conflicts, and effort to ensure they are contributing their fair share to the group regardless the time or day of the week. At these meetings, we discussed ways to engage the crowd and critiqued each other’s slides and presentations.…
