Geographic Segmentation
• Currently, GrainGoat focuses on a wide geographic part of the central United States that run length wise from Texas to North Dakota, and width wise from Colorado to Indiana. This large area commonly referred to the “Midwest” or the “plains states” contains the largest amounts of grains grown in the United States. There are currently over 500,000 small grain producers in the United States, all of which could potentially benefit from the Grain Goat.
• At this time, GrainGoat only operates and sells domestically, international segments could potentially be a focus in the future. Canada for instance is a large producer of small grains and is a very similar market to the United States.

In this segment, you have consumers who are more open to technological advances than those of their older generation that came before them. This segment grew up in a time where rapid innovations in computer and digital technologies changed the way in which the world lived and the way it conducted business.
• Occupation – Small grain farmers would naturally be the main target of this segment. However, educators in higher learning institutions would be a focus in the segments as well. With the development of the GrainGoat, having the product in these educational environments will expose it to numerous students and faculty alike who are great promoters and they move on and enter the workforce.
All demographics factors will need to be revisited in the future to ensure GrainGoat is adequately segmenting and targeting their market. As the markets adapt and change, GrainGoat will need to change their strategy to best fit their
