Plot/Sequence of Events The introduction of the book introduces Forrest Gump as an unintelligent, kind guy. Going in the second grade, he was put in a mental school. When he turned sixteen, he grew enormous to 6’6, 240 pounds. Then, Forrest was scouted by Coach Bryant, and he was asked to play football for the high school team. He dominated in high school, and was awarded to the All State Football Team. Forrest’s grades were bad, and he was told to report to the army. There, he failed to follow directions, and was sent to Alabama University. At Alabama, he met his crush Jenny Curran. He lived in the Ape Dorm with his roommate Curtis. He took the subjects Intermediate Light, English, and P.E. At Alabama, he learned to play the harmonica from his friend Bubba. Forrest got so good he started playing for a band with Jenny Curran. Once again, he was great at football. He brought his team all the way to the Orange Bowl, but they fell short. Forrest was kicked out of school for his bad grades, and he was sent to the army again. He met with his mom, but left to go visit Bubba’s dad. Forrest told Bubba’ dad about their idea of making a shrimp company. Within the next week, they started the shrimp company. The company was very successful after a couple years. They profited more than a million dollars. After a couple years, Forrest was taken out of the company because of his bad resume.
