He trained by playing and having people compete with him, he also does a lot of hand related exercises like pushups and etc. He was in a wheelchair for all of his events in hand cycling he races in his wheel chair and uses a lot of strength in his hand by pushing the wheels fast and carefully, also in basketball you have to have full control in your wheelchair, you have to move it
