Courage is an important trait for a person to have. Dr. Robert Anthony described it as "the willingness to be afraid and act anyway." The book Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers definitely agrees with this quote as it is based during the Vietnam War and is about a squad of U.S. soldiers. One person in the book that showed an abundance of courage is Perry. He was able to continue on throughout all the struggles of war. In the book he showed courage during different parts of the book including when he writes home, the mountain gunfight, and when he was separated from the squad. Perry writes letters back home to his mother and Kenny, his younger brother. In some of his letters, he states that most of the war is good and he is fine. This is him
