The Federal Bureau of Investigation, one of the top law enforcement agencies in the United States, is not the glamorous job as our modern-day television shows portray it to be. Although being an FBI Agent could hinder one from starting a family immediately, and would require complete devotion to one’s job, being a part of the FBI is a great honor, and it is part of one’s patriotic duty to serve and protect his country, the great nation of the United States. To remind trainees of their importance and purpose of the FBI, they must tour the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in D.C. ("Special Agent-Criminal Investigations Division"). Training includes eight hundred hours of training, recognizing the different types of guns and weapons. The physical training is extremely intense and requires one to be in great shape ("New Agent Training"). The FBI has just updated their fitness test within the past year. Typically, their fitness test is the hardest part because they must repeat it every year. The fitness test includes push-ups, sit-ups, a three-hundred-meter dash, and a mile-and-a-half run. A special agent 's workweek is around fifty or more hours, including being on call twenty-four hours and seven days a week. This means they are to be available at all times. Because of the long work hours, it is very difficult to start a family while one is still young or has not reached the age of thirty-five yet. By simply doing the job as a special agent of the FBI, there is a possibility of getting get killed or injured. Those in the position of a "Professional staff position" will be in the office out of harms way. As a special Agent, some cases might leave a traumatic emotional impact on one by affections how one might go about their daily life
