He believed that this experience presented sufficient qualifications for an interview. Although many fans may not like the decision that I have made, I believe the university will benefit from it in many ways. I believe the dismissal of Coach Calipari will assist in upholding the credibility of the athletic department. Ultimately, this decision sends the message that such violations are not condoned by the university, and that the athletic department will hold NCAA rule violators accountable for their actions. Under the umbrella of the NCAA, the university is not required to fire John Calipari, but it is implied that coaches who cheat should face harsh punishment. Unfortunately, the decision to fire Coach Calipari will anger some fans, and could potentially cost the university some money.…

One of the largest on going issues dealing with the injustice that is the current NCAA rule system is the limited spreading of wealth/profit within the institutions. This can be seen in the tremendous profits schools make yearly due to their athletic programs. Where the problem/injustice comes into play here is in how the colleges/institutions are able to get away with not spreading their wealth/profits to those have earned compensation. Romantic coach-athlete relationships are something that is still “overlooked and under-researched” (Johansson and Larsson, 2016, p.1). However, the NCAA is in the beginning process of attempting to require institutions to adopt policies that prohibit these types of relationships. At its core, these romantic relationships that are between coach and athlete, no matter the sex are harmful to the student-athlete, their teammates, the college or university, as well as the coach themselves. In the instance of what is happening at Southwest Coast University, it is vitally important that these two cases are not handled differently. Too often anymore, in cases of sexual abuse such as this, it makes a difference as to if this is a homosexual or heterosexual…
