II. Background Information: J.P. is a thirty-three year old Caucasian male. He is employed as an assistant principal. The examinee lives with his wife of eight years and their two adopted children. He did not disclose any details regarding why they adopted their children. For this assignment, I chose not to ask any questions about possible infertility or other potential issues that contributed to their decision to adopt. Discussion of Results: The examinee performed well on the mini-mental status exam, missing only a single point. The exam was well received by the examinee. He reported that he had seen this type of test used before with a family member involved in a car accident. The primary insight the examinee gained through the genogram was the consistency of positive relationships between himself and other family members. He mentioned that a recent argument between himself and youngest brother caused him to question how well he maintained family relationships. The genogram helped him to see he actually has very positive relationships with most of his family members. As an ISTJ on the MBTI, the examinee appears to be serious, thorough, realistic, and dependable. ISTJs are sometime called managers of facts and details. This fits clearly with his daily work responsibilities. It also matches many of his results from the 16 PF. The examinee reported that his MBTI results were in line with his understanding of self. We had a great discussion looking through the aspects, characteristics, and descriptions of the different personality types. The 16 PF results supported the examinees MBTI findings. The examinee said these results were fairly accurate, but that completing the test was tiring. He recalled the MBTI during this discussion and stated that, for his time and effort, it was a better tool of self-exploration than the 16 PF. The examinee reported that he believed he may have over thought on the multiple intelligences assessment. He said that he found himself looking for exceptions to most of the statements which may have skewed his results. This is likely true since the results from this test are out of step with the other assessments. He believes that his primary intelligences should rank verbal/linguistic first, followed by interpersonal, followed by musical. The examinee reported that the career assessment was spot on.
