Kathryn, as a new store manager, needs to gain the confidence and trust of her department heads and sales associates. Part of accomplishing this task is by providing her employees the opportunity to communicate with her through an open-door policy when it comes to questions or concerns with tasks. Kathryn also needs to become better acquainted with the employees and, to me, the best way is to be on the sales floor and participate in day to day operations. The purpose of this is two-fold: showing her employees she is approachable and that she is knowledgeable of stores products and practices. To enhance and reinforce the lines of communication, store meetings should be scheduled.…

Determining the strength of a nursing research study is a critical process that enhances the implementation of evidence-based practice. Determining the strength of a nursing research study ensures that the empirical knowledge developed through nursing research is useful in improving nursing care, the system of healthcare delivery, and patient outcomes. Additionally, nurses should use research findings when making clinical decisions on the best practice to use in order to deliver healthcare services that ensure all the patients receive safe and quality care (Melnyk et al. 2014). Therefore, determining the strength of a nursing research study helps to ensure the evidence is credible (valid and reliable) and is appropriate if incorporated into clinical practice.…

Collaborative storytelling Providing digital storytelling tools for the early childhood and elementary school years has been one of my constantly re-defined aims. The most recent tool I have developed is the Team Story editor, (Turcsányi-Szabó and Pasaréti, 2010) and also teamese.inf. Elte.hu. Children are able to create story actors and backgrounds digitally, as scanned figures or other art crafts (e.g., paper origami). They can easily assemble the story pages using the editor (Fig. 3.9.1 and 3.9.2) and supplement the pictures with a narrative in the form of written or spoken text.…
