Joseph Campbell, a scholar, summarized that we all have a journey yet to be traveled in our lives, we just need to wait for our call to adventure. He studied ancient mythology and came up with The Hero’s Journey. We are all heroes one way or another in this world. We all have a purpose in life, whether it’s good or bad. Joseph Campbell helped me determine that I too, am a hero. At first, I thought that my life was just simply a “repetition” on a daily basis, but as I reflect on special moments in my life, I see that there is a journey written among the lines of my life. My life’s journey as a student is much like Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey because I met my teachers who would soon become my mentors, had to deal with many conflicts in school, and in the end I earned special rewards that would make me see life in a different perspective.

Many people think that life is like a videogame, going on a mission and saving the girl. I on the other hand view life differently, life is not a videogame, life’s more than that. We need to open our eyes and wake up. We need to stop playing and actually pay attention to the world in which we live in because we all have a journey that we may not be aware of. There are many things that make each of our journeys special. We may find obstacles along the way, but life wouldn’t be interesting without obstacles, and surely without problems there wouldn’t be a lesson that we learn from. We are all heroes, there may be conflicts in our journeys, but in the end we earn a special reward. I believe that we all fall down sometimes, we just have to get back
