Ender's Game Movie Vs Book Analysis

How would you feel if you were approached at random in your own home to go to a place where each day you’d be fighting for your life? Well, this was what happened to Ender Wiggins. Ender’s Game is a science fiction story focusing on battles between different armies throughout space. It leads to a search for different soldiers all trying for one ultimate goal: beating the returning champions, the “Buggers.” When looking at both the film and the novel, in my opinion, the book was superior. It aimed to show the entire storyline of Ender’s Game from beginning to end. It demonstrated the realistic encounters of Ender’s journey as well as the obstacles he had to overcome. The book and the film are directly related through the same themes. Some of these being that The Government cannot be trusted, the adults are the true enemies and that it is every man for himself. When looking at The Government, they only work to intensely train young children to kill and fight off others their age. The Government gave no sense of direction on what to do or even who you’re going up against. However, each one knows only one army will come out alive. The young soldiers are completely isolated and directly taught that fighting and killing is the way to success in their environment. Now looking at the adults, each soldier knows for a fact that they cannot place any sort of trust into their elders while at school. The adults are the ones who sent them there and are the ones who poison their minds into thinking the way they do. Furthermore, throughout the story and the film, the kids learn to go against one another and in order to survive, one must only be concerned with himself. By the way their minds are taught, they know that nobody is to be considered an ally. For those that were thought to be on the same team, are not, yet another plan designed by the government. The similarities between the novel and the film were minimal. The initial plot and setting were almost identical throughout both. They each take place in Battle School/Command School with the same armies encountering one another. With this said, Ender is in the Dragon Army in the book as well as in the film. Generally speaking, all of the characters were identical more or less. The main characters Ender, Valentine, and Colonel Graff are all described and shown in the same way. Looking at one small detail, both the movie and the book had the scene where Ender fought Bonzo in the shower/locker room. They were written and filmed in the same order as well as showing how things occurred during that time. There were many differences between the book and film, most of …show more content…
It gave exquisite details on how each individual part happened and how each character responded. Supporting my thesis, the novel was more intriguing than the movie. Each event was described clearly, whereas in the film many were left out or unspoken of. I feel as if the movie focused on just the main parts of the story, but in the book every little obstacle was written out. Therefore, I have given various examples as to why the book was better than the film, along with the major similarities and differences of the

Ender’s Game Adaptation Movie Review Gavin Hood’s Adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game is an adventurous thrill ride. Ender Wiggin played by Asa Butterfield, is a third that was not really appreciated for being the third child in his family, a third that ended up being a successful recruit for the Battle School, where Ender is being pushed to his breaking point with all of the lies they are feeding him. It seems this movie took a lot of time and effort to create, with all of the scenes and technology upgrades. This movie is a good adaptation to the book because it brings all of the action moments in the book to the screen.…

No book or movie is ever alike. This is shown in the book “Enders Game” by Orson Scott Card and the Enders Game movie by Gaven Hood, where the book and movie had many similarities but as well had many differences. In the novel Ender is portrayed as a very different kid after he gets to battle school; however this is not shown in the movie. Another difference would be how Lock and Demosthenes were not mentioned at all in the movie, yet had a huge role in the book, and the final would be the endings for both the movie and book as well as Enders reaction to what’s going on in the end. These three reasons show how the movie is very different from the book.…

After reading and watching the story of Ender Wiggin, it occurred to me that the book and the movie has its similarities and differences. Even though I personally thought the book was better (which it was), they both have their ups and downs. Here are the comparisons between these two tales of Ender’s Game. The filmmakers of Ender’s Game: The Movie made unnecessary additions to the original story more than needed, such as tranquilizing Ender after he killed the buggers, having Petra be at Ender’s side when he goes off to find the bugger egg, or when there’s an actual adult bugger queen when Ender finds the egg.…
