There is a difference between the employment contract and the consultation contract according to the Egyptian law. The employment contract states the relationship between the employee and the employer that the employee is under the control and the supervision of the employer. The employee works for an employer for a wage, salary, payment, or a fee and is guided by an implied agreement. The employer is the one who pays the employee a wage, salary, payment or fee in exchange for supervising and controlling the employee’s activities and this is how the relationship goes between both parties. On the other hand, consultant is an independent contractor who works for a payment or fee, guided by implied agreement. Consultation contract implies that the contractors are not subject to the control or supervision of an employer. The employer will only pay the consultant fees for the consultation and the professional advice that he gives to the employer and his business. Another difference between the employee and the consultant is that the employee gets benefits from his work that the consultant does not get because the employee is considered to be a part of the organization while is consultant is not.
