In the early years Doris endured the hardship of having loss her mother to death at an early age. From the age of xx Doris was raised and loved by her grandparents. Although she was not afforded the love and nurturing of her mother, Doris was able to strive and overcome the many obstacles that life presented as a child raised in the rural south of America during the 1940’s. …show more content…
Doris was able to find additional strength and resilience through the meeting and eventual union in 1956 of her love and soul mate, Willie J. Watson. Doris’s strength and resilience lifted and guided them both through life’s trials and tribulations and has since served as the foundation of their successful union.
From those humble beginnings Doris, along with her husband, through hard work, perseverance, wisdom, and love were able to beat what would seem to be insurmountable odds to not only break the shackles of poverty but to ultimately rise to the highest levels of success.
