There is a variety of provision that is provided for children ,including statutory as well as voluntary and private organisations. There is an increasing trend for provision to be holistically organised rather than splitting it into health and education,which is a move towards interdisciplinary working. It also means that children and their parents are not constantly traveling or making separate appointments . For example ,a speech therapist might be based in the same centre where a child attends nursery or a social worker might make an appointment to talk to parents at one of the new Children's Centres.
