The creative class craves legitimacy. They do not want to settle for generic when they can be experiencing something as raw and pure as the authentic version. Judith Kapferer in her journal “Twilight of the Enlightenment: The Art Fair, the Culture Industry, and the `Creative Class’” explains that members of the creative class “are conscious of their ‘work-life balance’ in day-to-day activities, and appreciate that the lifestyle affords a relaxed and informal workplace. They are also recipients of very decent incomes and live…in small cities, which provide an amiable milieu of like-minded, similarly educated people and consciously cater to their recreational needs” (Judith Kapferer 18).
