Juan Rico is the main character and narrator of Starship Troopers. He is of filipino descent. From the information of his actions and Myers-Briggs I am to the conclusion that he has an Extravert, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving(ENFP) personality type. His life was easy going and did not have much traumatic experiences yet. His nickname was Johnnie which everyone called him.…
In “Film as Art and Psychology: Cool Hand Luke as Exemplar," Frank Barron employs a metaphorical comparison between religion and movies to claim that Cool Hand Luke is “about the Passion and Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ” (102). He substantiates his claim with in-depth mise-en- scène analysis, which does make Barron’s argument convincing, but to a certain extent. Barron highlights how Lucas Jackson’s figure movement and expressions symbolize that of Jesus Christ. For example, when he says “Luke is [seen] repeatedly stretching his arms akimbo, spread-eagled so that his body is like a cross” (102) after doing the unthinkable, eating fifty eggs. I do agree with Barron that Luke’s actions signify that of Christ; however the author focuses…
"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to preserve and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. " This quote is by Christopher Reeve and it connects to the novel our Twisted Hero because of the main character and protagonist Han going against the antagonist Om. First off, Han tries to stand up for himself and kind of also the students even if it doesn't end up the way he thinks it will. This has to do with the incident of Han trying to let the tech her know about all of Om's misdeeds because the students are too scared to tell him themselves. What Han does is tell the teacher for the students to say everything when Om isn't in the room so they can speak up without being scared but instead they all end up writing bad stuff about Han rather than about Om.…

In Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? by Joyce Carol Oates, the seemingly inhuman Arnold Friend can be interpreted as the “Pied Piper of Tuscon.” Oates have given Arnold Friend many qualities that are similar to the characteristics of the “Pied Piper of Tuscon” from the physical descriptions, to his mannerisms, his actions, down to the Arnold Friend’s name. Arnold Friend’s is described as about eighteen years old with “shaggy, shabby black hair that looked crazy as a wig,” with a tan that stops at his neck like he forgot to apply the rest of the “makeup” and “about” the same height as Connie. The “Pied Piper of Tuscon,” also known as Charles Schmid, is a short man known for dying his hair black and applying makeup to make his face tan,…
Did you know that although many consider Han Solo a favorite in the Star Wars world, the actor that originally played him on screen doesn't share the same sentiments? That's right. Harrison Ford doesn't love the fact that he played the infamous smuggler in the universe. He'd rather play the adventurous Indiana Jones - and still wants to!…
The Wars Robert Ross is in a predicament that showcased the epitome of juxtaposition in this particular novel. Robert a being of gentle and compassionate spirit is thrust into a chaos ridden world, that most would not be able to make sense of let alone survive as long as he did. The protagonist is forced to participate in acts that are so wildly in opposition to his gentle and caring nature. Roberts’s deep reverence for all living things is at the core of who he is as a person. Under these circumstances, it is reasonable to infer any man would become unraveled and Robert was no exception.…

She told us that not everyone knows how to communicate and that nothing sets a project back like two people unable to communicate. Communication professionals bridge the gap between other professionals in the same setting who lack strong communications skills. An efficient communicator can hear two sides of something and can find a middle ground. In addition to finding a middle ground, they can successfully convey the message of one party to the other, in much the same way a language translator tells one person in one language what another means in a second…
Changing Minds Is it possible that one person’s meaningful words would be able to show someone opposite of what they've been told all their lives? In the novel Summer of My German Soldier written by Bette Greene the main character’s name is Patty Bergen. Patty is twelve and a Jewish-American, she has very low self-esteem and is herself conscious. While she was working in her father’s store in Jenkinsville, Arkansas a group of POW’s (prisoners of war) came in the store. Patty meets one of the POW’s named Fredrick Anton Riker, he is 22.…

That still, doesn't change the fact that Mewtwo has literally '''Never''' used his memory erasing abilities in mid-combat '''Ever'''. This is akin to Kirby pull off a flash step with the warpstar. Wait,So sometimes they'll make a composite characters and other times they won't? Wouldn't it be easier to just stick to one version of each character than trying to fuse different (possibly non canon) versions into a new one. It really makes no sense seeing how they'll makes a composite of one character and then use one particular version of another.…

I thoroughly enjoyed this book because of a couple big reason, these reason are the amount of static and dynamic, the way the book uses flashbacks to describe people are their actions, and the evolution of the main character Bilbo Baggins. The 3 big dynamic characters are Gandalf, Bilbo, and Thorin. They changed gradually throughout the story making it feel like something that could happen in real life. The style of writing was pretty unique because a lot of the book is flashbacks, this told a story within another story adding more depth than most books contain. The last big reason why I liked this book is because of the main character Bilbo Baggins, he starts off being a person conflicted by the two sides of himself, Baggins and Took.…
