If you enjoy a book more than a movie. Then you’re going to agree with me if you have read the book of Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt and watched the movie Tuck Everlasting from Disney. Tuck Everlasting is a story about a girl named Winnie who meets a family that is burdened by being immortal. Natalie Babbit’s Tuck Everlasting is better than Disney’s Tuck Everlasting, because it gives more imagery, suspense, and characterization.
A way that the book Tuck Everlasting is better than the movie, because the imagery in the book was a lot stronger than the movie. An example of this in the book is in the wood. In the book it sounds nice, beautiful, and nature-like. While in the movie it was more over grown. Another example is in the lake near the Tuck’s house. In the book it is smaller, while in the movie it is huge and

In the book when Mae killed the man, people knew in the movie that she killed the man, but in the book you have to read about four chapters to find out, while in those chapters the plot would gain more layers. People would also be at a draw by wanting the man in the yellow suit to be dead, so the Fosters could keep their land. At the same time, they would want the man in the yellow suit to be alive, so Mae would not be hung at the gallows, exposing her secret. One more reason to support this is when Mae was in jail, in the book you would wonder how Mae would escape, or if she escapes. While in the movie, you already know that people would save Mae, because of all the cliché beginnings and stories. In the book, you believe that there would be a twist or that there is going to be a different way to get Mae back. Also, in the book there was more suspense when Winnie met Jesse, the audience would wonder whether she would get kidnapped. There is also suspense whether she would leave in peace, or if she would drink the water and become

The end of the movie shows the family driving off in a new car and Papa laughing and yelling. In the book, it ends with Jeanne revisiting the site of the camp instead of it being at the beginning. At the end of the movie, it also shows Alice graduating from school, while it doesn’t say anything about this in the book; instead it says the schools were closed. Overall, the book and movie are similar in many ways, but are still very different from each other. The movie is similar to the book, but it doesn’t convey the full message that the book does and doesn’t show as well what Jeanne was trying to express.…

It gave exquisite details on how each individual part happened and how each character responded. Supporting my thesis, the novel was more intriguing than the movie. Each event was described clearly, whereas in the film many were left out or unspoken of. I feel as if the movie focused on just the main parts of the story, but in the book every little obstacle was written out. Therefore, I have given various examples as to why the book was better than the film, along with the major similarities and differences of the…

Ironically due to the storyline; the book is better than the movie, because it is shows better description, character analysis, and it gets the point across to the reader to show what leads up to the main idea. Maloney's killing, is another big element which distinguishes between the book and film. In the original book, it is clear to the reader that Mrs. Maloney will not be recognized as the murder, and it is almost amusing when the police accept her offer to eat the leg of lamb which was the weapon. The author builds minimal suspense. And yet, in the movie, the audience feels great suspense.…

In “The Landlady”, Billy Weaver is lured into a seemingly normal bed and breakfast by an old lady who, despite her gentle and unthreatening appearance, wants to kill him. It is a story about how those with cruel intent may take advantage of those who are innocent and naive. Although the book and the movie can be arguably similar if generalized, there are many differences that may change the way a reader/viewer may grasp the concept of the story. Since a movie and book cannot be exactly the same, the film version is bound to have things that differ from the text. One example of how the book develops the development of the story is with the setting.…

One of the most important, yet seemingly small differences, is the name given to the narrator in the movie, Charlotte. She never names herself throughout the written story. The choice not to name a main character of a story was very well thought out by Gilman. A no-named character gives the readers the ability to relate because they could just as easily be this person as to anyone else. The writers of the film not only chose to name the narrator, but they chose the name of the author of the original story.…

In the movie version we see a lot of visual effects being used, the different locations in which the movie was shot, the cast and crew that made the movie and the compactness of the entire novel into a two hour and seven minutes movie has made the movie more preferable option amongst larger crowed. The artistic liberty that Joe Wright has taken up in changing few scenes of the movie has done justice from the entertainment point of view but not the literature point of…

It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…
