Reminding the social worker she is held to a high standard would be beneficial as she violated the client’s confidentiality. Confidentially is the right of the client, and the protection of it is made clear as a social worker’s responsibility, thus we have witnessed a breach in confidentiality (Daley & Doughty, 2006). According to Daley & Doughty (2006), additional training and education to ensure competency would be specified, as a violation of competency would also be a complaint due to the social worker’s behavior on both counts inclusive of her interaction with the client and colleagues. More importantly, as a fellow social worker there is an obligation to the Code’s regulation when one identifies the unethical behavior of one’s colleagues by exposing it with intent to discourage, and, with the hopes of prevention (Code of Ethics, n.d.).
