There are three main causes of China’s water scarcity crisis, population, pollution, and global warming. Of these, the biggest driver is pollution.
One reason for China’s water shortage is global warming. Glaciers are shrinking 7% a year, and it is all because of global warming(Document A). If the glaciers keep melting, there will be no water during the dry season(Document A). Glaciers provide water by melting seasonally to provide water during the dry season. Since they are melting faster than they should they aren’t providing the water they need.
