On January 17, 2014 California State Governor Jerry Brown, declared a drought state of emergency. A drought is a period of drier-than-normal conditions that result in water-related problems. This drought was taken seriously and new regulations were established quickly. Although many don’t follow these regulations in order to save water regulations must be implied such as using portable water to wash sidewalks and driveways,runoff when irrigating portable water,using hoses with no shut off nozzle to wash cars,using potable water in decorative water features that do not recirculate the water etc. This was taken into action by some citizens, most citizens minimized their water usage.During drought, farmers are most affected, due to the short water supply this …show more content…
Although reduced water usage, many rely upon groundwater and it often increases during drought because more water is pulled the the sources. Because of the hustle to get water from the underground this causes groundwater pumping to meet all the water demands.The demands that are lacked because of water shortage, lack of rainfall. Nearly all surface water such as small and large streams, lakes which intact with groundwater which can be managed if we run out of water. We have many struggles with no real reason other than unexpected shortage of water given to the earth, which can cause a lot of theories as to why the drought is so severe. People who also believe in God and The Bible can also give a theory about the drought and consider this time “the end of time”. Others who don’t believe can also bandwagon. Everyone can help a little each day to save water. We can stop runoffs when wash dishes, washing your hands, taking a shower, washing your car etc.Schools can also get engaged more to help save easy water wastes. There are many ways to save water and many sites to help people recognize how much water each person wastes each day. A little help from each
