Teen pregnancies are a societal problem that everyone needs to be aware of, since 50% of teen mothers ages 15-17 drop out of high school and do not return, and 80% of them end up living in poverty and or on welfare from some length of time. They may also develop many emotional problems such as depression, shame, guilt, and stress. Being stressed during pregnancy could cause many problems such as a miscarriage. In fact, eight out of ten fathers do not stay with the mother of their child because he himself may not be prepared for the child and may not care for the child. This often leads the mother to step out and start making rational decisions on her own for both her and the child which could lead to even more stress. The teen mother could cause medical complication for the unborn child such as anemia, high blood pressure, and premature birth of the baby. Medical care is very important for a unborn child 's well being. Even though teen pregnacy is rapidly growing it has been around for many years.
