Employer of choice means: that the company/group like Halcrow has carefully thought about creating an environment where people want to work and have long-lasting careers. Management has created a place where people choose to work over other competing organizations because of what they believe the company/group will offer them in terms of the whole experience compensation, benefits, training, perks, opportunities, development and purpose for being, (Cascio, 2010).

It's an employer who offers work culture and workplace environments that attract and retains superior employees. The features of the environment available at an employer of choice favour the well-being of employees and customers that are doing business with the group or company.

Younger/ graduates employees are looking for groups that are really committed to being “green”, looking at their career growth or career path as well as their work balance issues. This graduates that Halcrow hires they will also want to know where they fit into the group’s big picture or vision which is not clearly stated which highlights the weakness of the group in being or considered to be a good employer of choice. Other important components that Halcrow should be exposing to, to be considered strongly as employer of a choice, include opportunities to collaborate with others, flexibility with work schedules and job content, personal growth, and community and social …show more content…
Halcrow should offer an attractive, competitive, comprehensive benefits package with components such as life insurance, disability insurance and flexible hours. With that will make young graduates whose stated reason for accepting a job offer with a competitive salary to the market out there. With that employees turn over can be reduced.
• In considering the global training, HR can also assist in allowing or provide opportunities for graduates to share their knowledge on-the-job via training sessions, presentations, mentoring others and team assignments. Some of the employees like to share what they know; the act of teaching others ensures the employee's own learning. This could also save Halcrow some money on sending graduates away for training.
• It is important that graduates employees are offered their performance feedback and praise good efforts and results to reduce employee turnover.
• Although employees had already raised their concerns of their work life balances. Halcrow should enable graduates employees to balance work and life. Allow flexible starting times, core business hours and flexible ending times. For example (Yes, his son's soccer game is as important as
