I was able to interact with the children I coached. I was able to teach them what I knew about the sport, and I knew they appreciated it. Many times during the season, I grew very frustrated because I did not realize why they could never understand what I was trying to tell them. I figured that I was trying to feed them to much information in a short amount of time. They taught me to be patient. Not only did I have to train my team the game of basketball, I also had to teach them to live how God created us to live. Not only did I have to teach them, but I already had to present this to them through my actions. I always started practice with prayer to ask God to keep us a focused on our task. I also I started every game with a prayer asking God to keep both teams safe and that we may grow stronger as a team.
