Leading by Example The first criteria that I would use to measure the effectiveness of a leader are “Leading by Example.” Leading by example or modeling is the best way in my opinion to teach and for students to learn. I have two girls which played softball for several years and I help coach the teams. The hardest job as a coach was to teach proper technique whether it was hitting or catching.
