Briny: A Short Story

Briny was known around her the land for how many people she would flush out of her life. She would go man to man but as soon as she didn’t like them she would be gone with them. She would travel to all different islands to try and find her lover, but no one seemed to fit her needs. She even dated princes that needed to be wed.
Briny’s parents were divorced. She went to live with her mother instead of her father. They moved to another island to get away from her father. Once she was old enough Briny went out on her own looking for men. She would stop in on her mom every once in awhile to have a visit. She decided to take it. It costed her two silver coins to get the ride. She packed up her things from her mom’s house and headed off.
When she got to Troy she found a place to live, and started looking for men to be her lover. She found a man who owned a beautiful jewelry shop that had all kinds a bracelets, necklaces. She found him intriguing. His name was Basil. They started to date. Briny took her mom’s advice to give him more chances. They were dating for a few months, he had made few mistakes. Briny was about to let him go but kept with him.
One day Briny was ready to break up with Basil, but on the same day he was going to ask Briny to marry him.
“Briny will you marry me?’ he asked
Briny looked at him in disguise, “EWW, NO!”
Briny started to walk away when Basil turned into the God of love, Eros.
He started, “Briny you have run out of chances for finding men. You will now be alone for the rest of your life glowing in the sea, but people will still be able to see you.”
At the snap of those words Briny became a tiny thing, and floated in the water glowing. Briny became the first ever glowing plankton leaving her trail wherever Briny
