Book Vs. David: Comparing The Book And Movie

Decent Essays
Book or movie should be interesting whether you pick or I pick. Well I’ll pick first, I liked both the book and the movie because they were sort of the same in many ways. But if I had to choose it would be the book because the book gave more detail than the movie. My opinion is the book because it had many differences between the movie but the book has more parts that the movie didn’t show because they had to cut it short. The movie was fantastic but some of the scenes in the movie were not in the book, like how sometimes David was caught a few times in the movie, that was not in the book for sure. Some scenes that were in the book and the movie, I was surprised that they turned out like how I imagined it to be in the book while when I saw those parts in the movie they were different of how I imagined it to be. But I really liked the movie but I did say that I preferred the book better. …show more content…
First of all the books have so much detail that helps you get the character or characters what they’re feeling and what they are seeing. All the chapters have different parts of how the story is being told or written. Books often are often because the authors make the books so interesting for the readers to read. In the book, however, it went into more detail about how distant she was with her father. In the end, both the book and the movie have many similarities and differences. In my opinion though, I like the book better than the movie, because it goes deeper with important details than the movie does. The main characters Julie and R’s character development doesn’t change the way their relationship turns out.…

I personally loved the fact that I didn’t know what a sycamore tree looked like, it allowed me to view the story in a more personal way and it allowed me to be more imaginative and immersed in the story. And because of this, I didn’t like the way that the movie showed us exactly what everyone and everything had to look like. The novel was more appealing as it just let me mold the setting to what I thought was best. Lastly, the characters in the movie and book had many similarities and…

Both are excellent stories, but which is better? It is the story of Billy, who is a poor farm boy growing up in Oklahoma, who works to buy and train two Redbonehound hunting dogs, Old Dan and Little Ann. Together with his dogs, Billy becomes a champion hunter, until the dogs meet a tragic end. I would choose the book, since the book had lots of character development, which was amazing. The characters in the book were more advanced and had more emotions than the characters in the movie.…

Movies convey their emotions by hearing and by the picture, thanks to the great sound and visual effects the details seem more real. However, a movie projects one main picture that can be somehow limiting to the spectator, who, will not think any further to what is depicted on the screen. Books, on the other hand, are more often than not, visually boring and not as attractive. Nevertheless, books are not just bunch of letters and words, books make the reader capable of expanding their imagining capacities. Usually, after reading a book, there are countless ways to interpret the story and details, thanks to the lack of visual limitations.…

In the movie version we see a lot of visual effects being used, the different locations in which the movie was shot, the cast and crew that made the movie and the compactness of the entire novel into a two hour and seven minutes movie has made the movie more preferable option amongst larger crowed. It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…
