There is no rule that states that Bonnie could not have a heater but, Bonnie's heater should have been inspected by the safety officer to be approved to use in the office. Due to Bonnie not making sure the heater was safe for the office cause the violation. Extension cords should not be ran across the floor you are in danger of hurting yourself or one of your coworkers. Running extension cords across another outlet could cause fires.

Yes the safety officer did handle this situation correctly by asking her not to use the heater, but I also believe that he should have done an educational step on why the heater should not be used in the office. Bonnie had been asked not to use the heater in the office once before so I feel that the safety officer had the right to removed the heater at that time for safety concerns and Bonnie should have been told to take the heater home at the end of the day.
