There are plenty of campaigns to Save the Rainforests. When raising awareness for the plight rainforests are enduring, activists are not implying that other kinds of forests don’t matter; they are simply focusing on rainforests because they are the ones who face the most invasions by industrialization. As a community, people needed to focus on the rainforests. People did not create a Save the Pine Forests movement to stick up for other kinds of rainforests because they understood that, at this point in time, people needed to emphasize rainforests. This essay, however, is not a plug to save the rainforests.
If we look at African-American lives as we do rainforests, we will see a similarity with the cause of the movement, but not with reaction to it. When people announced that they wanted to save the rainforests, society as a whole was either actively involved or passively neutral. This was not the case with the Black Lives Matter crusade.
