The mistreatment endured by the population shaped the existent African American culture. The oppression of African Americans prevents the population from possessing the ability to fully contribute to our society (Nixon np). As oppression based events continue to occur, the best thing we can do is learn the mistakes and change in order to improve the lives of all.
