He was obvious about his stand on teenager’s anti-social behaviour after technology. This was very evident when he stated “If kids can’t socialize, who should parents blame? Simple: they should blame themselves”. This shows how much the author stands with view. He believes it is obvious that parents play a role in teenager’s anti-social behaviour and made sure his readers know. This is perfect in an informal essay. These pieces of writing should always persuade and hook the reader which is exactly what Wiseman did.
The diction that Ben Wiseman used in his essay is a perfect example of how informal essays are supposed to be. The author used words that generated a great atmosphere that indirectly supported his thesis. For example “Has crafty Facebook, with its casino-like structure of algorithmic nudging, hypnotized our youth?” As seen in this quote Wiseman used a perfect combination of informal and formal diction which made his essay so outstanding.
The rhetorical devices, structure, diction and voice made Ben Wiseman work a perfect example of an informal essay. He always maintained a great way of catching the reader’s attention and at the same time informed his readers about his view on teenager’s antisocial behaviour after
