Bystanders around a person being arrested or in correlation with an officer would want just as much protection as the next person. People want to be believed just as much as they want to be heard. They want to have protection as well as proof. Usually citizens are not filming police officers to interfere with or delay their work. Watching many videos of people who are recording before they are getting arrested are usually not being arrested simply because they were recording. When these people are arrested, it is usually because they are antagonizing the officer in different ways or are too close to the first detainee. These individuals recording are not across the street or even a car distance away; they are pacing back and forth, almost arm’s length away, insuring they get a perfect shot. Not only do some second party officiates stand too close to the officer and the individual being apprehended, they talk to them! This person continuously reassures the original detainee that everything happening is being recorded and they have nothing to worry about. However, they don’t just talk to the detainee, they bluntly talk at the police
